What does it mean to live a self-mastered life? It is being the most perfect you that you want to be and seeing the truth of who you really are. The truth sets us free and transforms our lives. The truth is that we all grow up idealizing our parents even though most of our parents were unable to give us unconditional love and acceptance because they themselves were not given it as children. We do not love and accept ourselves because we never learned how to do so. And when we do not love and accept ourselves how can we expect anyone else to? We need to dig deep to face the fears we all have inside of us.
Digging deep with in you is digging the well into your painful repressed emotions. Our feelings are the language of our soul and until we feel and release them we get to keep them for as long as we want – no questions asked and with out judgment. Healing ourselves is about choosing to live and living is about feeling. In order for any man or woman to live a healthy and sane life they must feel and release their painful feelings. This is seems like a pretty daunting task if you were taught that you shouldn’t express your feelings. And this is just one type of belief most of us have programmed in our minds that literally wreaks havoc in our lives – “feelings are bad.”
What about those of us that were abused as children? The types of beliefs that were programmed like – “I am not safe, there is something wrong with me, when people love you they hurt you, etc.” How do we move on with our lives if we still have so much anger within us? Can we trust people not to hurt us like we were when we were children? Or are we condoning behaviors and saying it’s okay that you abuse me? Imagine yourself hearing the people who trespassed you say they are sorry and being able to move forward with your life. Imagine telling someone you are sorry for the pain you have caused them and feeling safe doing it. Imagine feeling good and no longer feeling pain, angry, guilty and resentful.
Changing your life means taking responsibility for your life. As you awaken to your own truth and become a conscious adult you will take responsibility for what you are creating in your life. You no longer blame “others” for why your life is not working for you. Instead, you look to you for the perfect parenting your heart longs for but didn’t receive as a child. You develop a real relationship with your inner child and be able to unconditionally love and accept yourself the way perfect parents would have loved and accepted you if they actually existed. Imagine feeling unconditionally loved and accepted as if you grew up with perfect parents? Imagine feeling worthy and deserving of such a love? How different would your life be today? Can you visualize how different you want your life to be for the next phase of your life?
Evolving in to who you are meant to be also involves seeing how the relationships you are in are the mirrors to who you are on the inside. Seeing your relationships as a tool for spiritual growth is not easy to do if you have not dug deep into yourself. Because once you become conscious of your programming it can be a little frightening to realize at first how many limiting beliefs you actually have programmed through the type of people you are in relationship with and the types of issues that arise through out your interactions with that person. But it is the most freeing experience on the earth plane.
We view what it is we most need to heal through our partner as he or she mirrors it back to us. And to have that person tap us on the shoulder to remind us that what we are experiencing is just programming that needs to be cleaned, repressed feelings that need to be felt and released, and validating to us that we are loved just the way we are because we are not behaviors is truly to feel what it is like to be in heaven while on earth. It is no longer about accepting “magical beliefs – such as prince charming will come and rescue me” into our minds as the way relationships are and should be. It is about changing beliefs from the inside out.
Leading a self-mastered life is learning to observe the thoughts that pass through our minds without judgment and choosing to change them into what you want to believe. It is learning how to pause and not react when life tests you. Self-mastery is about feeling from your heart and allowing yourself to feel whatever it is your feeling and following that instead of the limiting beliefs and thoughts that flow in and out of your mind. Self-mastery is about going within to the Divine that reside within your heart despite what is going on outside of you. It is about creating the life you want to live not the life everyone else wants or expects you to live. Live your life with intention. Live your life with meaning. Live your life with love. Just live your life!!!
You are so loved so love yourself just as much.
